Good vegetarian options and the waitress was so friendly and helpful. Will definitely return when in Interlaken

Pffff .... a long day, you arrive in Interlaken in midst of the summer. People everywhere who are on a holiday with their Instagram account.... and you are soooo Hungry. Hotel-Restaurants are mostly not the first place to look at, because you know ..... everyone knows what Hotel-Food tastes like right? Not this place. The food was astounishing. I liked the flank steak with the fresh grilled veggies. Awh! It was delicious. The area was clean as well and the waiter was friendly to the bones. The children got a lot of fries! Like ... a lot. Also the chicken nuggets were made of fresh cut chicken filets. Nice!

It was wonderful. I was unable to make a reservation online and the concierge at the hotel that my tour group was staying at said he could not make a phone reservation. I walked over to the Interlaken and was directed to the maitre d’hotel. He was extremely kind and accommodating, seating me on the lovely, breezy patio as I had hoped, and explaining that the table was only available until somewhat before seven because there were reservations. (The kitchen opens at six.) I had a delicious alcohol free aperitif while I waited for the kitchen to open so I could order. An extraordinarily kind and knowledgeable young woman took my food order. The cold avocado soup was absolutely delicious, with lovely garnishes. The excellent bread was served with olive oil for dipping and intriguing seasoned salt, and house made butter. I ordered a cold sliced roast beef entree that was perfect for a dinner in the midst of what seems to be a brutal heat wave. It was accompanied by an excellent leafy salad and potato salad (not the mayonnaise kind). Besides being one of the best meals I have had anywhere in ages, it was not especially expensive given the quality of the food and service and the lovely setting. I had my back to the street and was able to enjoy a view of a church steeple, the mountains, and hang gliders. Amazing combination in every way.

We had a wonderful dining experience at Taverne this evening. We were greeted warmly by the hostess and were seated in the lovely outdoor area. Our server Phillipp was outstanding - he was courteous, friendly and efficient, even handling a special request for us. He and my husband had a nice conversation about Swiss wines. The food was delicious and plentiful from the bread basket to the salads, the delicious meat and vegetables to our yummy desserts. We highly recommend Taverne and, in particular, thank Philipp for such an enjoyable evening!

This was a great meal where we were sat outside and could see the koi in the pond, we had the Fondue meal for two and we both thought it was brilliant

Easy to find on a main street of Interlaken, but a quiet corner facing a garden. Food was exquisite but not pretentious from starter, main to dessert - wonderful presentation and tasty fresh vegetables and meat/fish from the local area. Good selection of wine. Excellent service by Catarina with attentiveness and friendliness. Bonus point: it was quite reasonable with Swiss tourist destination standard. Highly recommended.

Delicious fondue and wine. The asparagus risotto was amazing. The white asparagus in it was amazing. The outside seating was relaxing after a long day of sightseeing.

The food and service were both excellent. The meals are creative and well prepared. There is a variety of options for many different dietary preferences, including for children. The restaurant is in a beautiful room inside the Hotel Interlaken. Highly recommend.

Great food in a friendly atmosphere

Recommended by a friend and so glad we went. Sat outside on the patio and had the best meal. Excellent service and saw many beautiful desserts. We had salads and I had the tenderloin while my husband had the veal stew. Both were fantastic and beautifully presented.

The service was a bit OTT with a lot of what might be described as fake professionalism. Hard to put a finger on but just didn't feel genuine. The food was very good, my fondue starter and the steak main were very nice. The main was a fraction oily but still very tasty. I have never not been able to charge a meal in a hotel restaurant to my room, so this was a disappointing first.

This was undoubtedly the best meal we had in Switzerland - everything from the friendly welcome, to Philip's outstanding service, to the delicious food and drink and the lovely table by the window, were superb. My asparagus risotto was gorgeous - a combination of perfectly cooked asparagus and vegetables, my husband's pulled pork burger he described as 'unctuous'! We shared an unusual and very tasty starter of tortellini with beetroot and and simply had to finish with a chocolate fondue - with a fabulous selection of fresh fruit, marshmallows, dried fruit and nuts. Swiss cider to drink. This was a meal we shall certainly remember for a very long time - the perfect finale to a great holiday.

Really amazing food in a beautiful, yet unpretentious atmosphere. Presentation was beautiful and portions were generous. Highly recommend.

Went to Taverne twice during our stay in Interlaken, we enjoyed it so much the first time, went again. Excellent traditional Swiss food, great service and atmosphere.

Very old style Swiss Restaurant. The soup is good taste. The starter, Beef Tartar is great size and with good variety of vegetables and high quality beef! The Fondue taste good and wonderful experience of the mode of eating ! The waitess, Tina is very nice, kind and patient to explain the different kind of Swiss food and beer and helped to take very good pictures of us. Thanks Tina!
