Winter Park Interlaken

10 January – 1 March 2026

Discover the Winter Park Interlaken created from disused Christmas trees

For the fourth time in a row, Winter Park Interlaken is being implemented, giving the fir trees in the Holiday Region Interlaken a second life. After previously decorating homes and businesses in and around Interlaken, they are finding a new home on the Höhematte. From 10 January to 1 March 2026, you can stroll through Winter Park free of charge and soak up the winter atmosphere.

Winter Park closed on Wednesday, January 21

Due to an event, the Winter Park will be closed to the public on January 21 at 5.30 p.m. Starting Thursday, January 22, the park will be open again as usual and will welcome guests and locals once more.

Experience the magic of the Winter Park Interlaken

In the shadow of the Harder to the north of the city, overlooking the snow-capped Jungfrau to the south, an atmospheric winter landscape is emerging on the Höhematte in Interlaken, inviting visitors to linger, explore, and pause for reflection. The Winter Park is open daily from 8.30 am to 9.30 pm. New wooden chip paths open up between the fir trees. Discover what makes Switzerland so special and why it is sometimes so different in other countries. And the most important question remains: Can you find your way out?

The pavilion in the middle of the Winter Park

At weekends, there is also an entertaining program of events awaiting young and old alike: the pavilion is a place of wonder, laughter, and applause. Sometimes musicians create a good mood, at another day local artisans demonstrate their skills, and maybe you'll even get to lend a hand. Come by and let yourself be surprised.

Make a wish

The scores of fir trees at Winter Park Interlaken will captivate your thoughts and feelings so strongly that you will even forget the stunning surroundings. In no time, you will feel like you really have stumbled into a magical winter forest – surely the perfect time to make a wish that hopefully will come true. Before leaving the Winter Park, write your dearest wish on a piece of paper and hang it on one of the many fir trees. The Winter Park is a magical place, and the wish papers fill it with hopes and dreams, turning it into a fairytale forest of white – just in case the snow should melt. How many wishes can we gather? Some may wish for a toy car, others for a return visit to Interlaken in winter, while others still may wish for the health of their loved ones. No wish is too grand to write down and place on a Christmas tree.

The idea and concept of the wish lists came from Gerry Hofstetter. His vision gives Winter Park Interlaken an extra emotional depth.

Christmas trees used three times

The Winter Park offers a memorable experience for visitors and locals alike. It is made up of large numbers of used and unsold Christmas trees. Last year, around three thousand fir trees donated by residents, local businesses, shelters, the municipality and many other supporters found a second home in the Höhematte. After providing an entertaining diversion for visitors, the fir trees are passed on to fisheries, farms and animal parks for a third use.
