    Central location but soulless
Great location. Clean comfortable rooms Fantastic view from balcony. There are no coffee facilities in the room .You have to go to another floor to get this. The room did not have air conditioning although a portable air conditioning unit was in the room.It was useless in this very hot weather.Although the bed pillows etc were comfortable the temperature in the room made it impossible to sleep. Breakfast was adequate. The bar looked nice .but had no atmosphere. This hotel is ok for one or two nights but not for more

Frustrated with cancellation policy and high price
This hotel is overpriced and just meh. It looks out of place on Interlaken and was the least friendly of all the hotels we stayed at in our 2 weeks of travel. Also, they are very inflexible and stick to the cancellation policy so if you need to end your stay early for any reason be prepared for them NOT to work with you. The location is nice but so many other hotels have equally nice locations- and it’s hard to find a hotel that isn’t conveniently located here.

Location great, view great. Breakfast adequate. Lifts are a nightmare to order and control. The rooms are clean and basic..

    Issues with reception
Having stayed at the Metropole 7 times over the last 30 years I was disappointed in this visit. Booked directly with the hotel from the UK. Phoned the hotel a couple of times… still waiting for a reply from one of them! Prior to arrival I received an email asking for payment of an amount I didn’t recognise and queried that. But no response. New email the received for the amount I was expecting. On arrival as I had booked 3 rooms, 2 for 9 nights and 1 for 4 nights we asked which room was for 4 days and settled into our rooms. After 2 days we found out that we had been told the wrong room so had to move rooms after 4 days . We also had an issue with 2/3 course meals, but lovely gentleman in the restaurant went out of his way to resolve the issue. Ice machine on the sauna floor was really appreciated as it was so hot. Sadly unlikely to return

    Beautiful Views & Great Location
The Hotel Metropole Interlaken offers stunning views and an excellent location right in the heart of town. The hotel seems recently renovated, with well-sized rooms that were comfortable and enjoyable. Breakfast was also good, providing a solid start to the day. However, be aware that the elevator controls are quite complicated – a minor frustration during our stay. Overall, a great base for exploring Interlaken!

    Best hotel in Interlaken
For the value, Hotel Metropole is the best hotel in Interlaken and I’ll stay here every time. The staff is impeccable, the lobby is inviting, and the rooms are clean and comfortable. You can’t ask for more than that. The location is ideal as well, close to everything. I’ll be back next June.

    Mixed feelings
Location was close to lots of alfresco dining places. Location was too far to walk from the Railway Station for over 50's with suitcases. Room was adequate but paint peeling off the bathroom ceiling and missing from bathroom door stiles presented poorly. Room was clean I had no issues with noise from the restaurants outside the window. I had good service from the head housekeeper who fixed my TV issue and found me a power adaptor after the reception desk staff told me to go and buy one.

    Great Hotel
This hotel is great! It is right in the middle of the shops and restaurants and a lovely park across the street. It is a 7 minute walk from both the Ost (East) and West train stations. Great location to take a day trip to Jungfrau. Hotel is clean and modern. Breakfast had a great selection. Staff was pleasant and helpful.

    Girls trip!
My friend and I stayed at the Metropole while visiting Interlaken, and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The hotel is conveniently located within an easy walking distance from the train station—even with luggage—which made arrival and departure very smooth. The front desk staff was incredibly accommodating. We arrived late in the morning and had plans to hike the Hardergrat, but due to timing and incoming weather, we needed a taxi to Lombachalp. Christian at the front desk went above and beyond to help arrange everything for us and even checked in on us the following day, which was such a thoughtful touch. Although we ended up getting caught in the rain and walked back into town, it turned into an unforgettable adventure. Back at the hotel, our room had an amazing view overlooking the paragliding landing area, which made for such a unique experience. On our last day, we were treated to a stunning view of the Jungfrau, with paragliders gliding gracefully toward the landing field right outside our room—it was absolutely breathtaking. I would definitely recommend staying here when visiting Interlaken!

    Great views and service.
The hotel dominates the valley and doesn’t look very appealing from the outside but that belies the excellent hospitality that awaits on the inside. We had a lovely large room on the 4th floor with a balcony and views of the glacier and the paragliders landing in front of the hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was great with many options and excellent service from the staff.

Solid, clean, friendly, ideal for mass tourism, no charme at all
Good location, clean. solid and practical rooms, friendliy receptionists. Yet, the hotel and rooms seem optimized for a high quantity of guests who stay one night on an extended trip. The carpet, for example, seems optimized for a high tear However, the hotel has no charm at all. It might as well be at an airport.

    Fantastic views and great location.
We stayed at this hotel for a couple of nights during our trip through Switzerland. To be honest the aesthetics of it from the outside isn’t that appealing but inside looking out is amazing. We also had a fab room on the 12th floor. Nice and airy and looked straight over the park with the skies full of paragliders. Which was lovely to watch. The breakfast was plentiful and they surprised me with a lovely vegan selection both mornings. It’s ideally situated in town for the local shops and restaurants. And the train station is a 10 minute walk.

Great central location by Hohematte Park
We liked just about everything at this hotel. The location by the large park was great for people watching from our balcony and viewing the numerous paragliders landing in the park. There is apparently no A/C, but we didn’t need it in May when the temperatures were only around 60F. The room was very quiet with a sitting area, plentiful storage areas and a well-designed bathroom with face cloths provided. The elevators were unusual in that you scanned your room key to summon it and chose your floor at that same time. There were no floor buttons in the elevator, and it only stopped on the floors that had been picked before entering the elevator. We ate breakfast and one dinner in the hotel restaurant. The breakfast selection was fairly good (bacon/sausages, eggs, rice, yogurts, meats, cheeses and breads). We noticed the restaurant acoustics were poor as it was difficult to have a conversation at our table if there were many other diners nearby talking very loudly.

    Lovely hotel in central Interlaken
We stayed for 5 nights in the 8th floor with a great view and balcony overlooking Interlaken and the Jungfrau. We were greeted with a friendly welcome and smile. The room was large and with large window and door opening onto a balcony, it was serviced everyday with fresh towel and a freshen up. The breakfast was great with both a continental and hot buffet available plus we ate in a lovely room on the first floor overlooking the green and was a great place to watch the paragliders. Overall we had a lovely stay in The Metropole. We will use again next time we are in Interlaken.
