- susanmQ5175NTJune 17, 2026 at 7:08 AMGreat HotelThis hotel is great! It is right in the middle of the shops and restaurants and a lovely park across the street. It is a 7 minute walk from both the Ost (East) and West train stations. Great location to take a day trip to Jungfrau. Hotel is clean and modern. Breakfast had a great selection. Staff was pleasant and helpful.More
- jluis84June 14, 2026 at 10:18 AMGirls trip!My friend and I stayed at the Metropole while visiting Interlaken, and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The hotel is conveniently located within an easy walking distance from the train station—even with luggage—which made arrival and departure very smooth. The front desk staff was incredibly accommodating. We arrived late in the morning and had plans to hike the Hardergrat, but due to timing and incoming weather, we needed a taxi to Lombachalp. Christian at the front desk went above and beyond to help arrange everything for us and even checked in on us the following day, which was such a thoughtful touch. Although we ended up getting caught in the rain and walked back into town, it turned into an unforgettable adventure. Back at the hotel, our room had an amazing view overlooking the paragliding landing area, which made for such a unique experience. On our last day, we were treated to a stunning view of the Jungfrau, with paragliders gliding gracefully toward the landing field right outside our room—it was absolutely breathtaking. I would definitely recommend staying here when visiting Interlaken!More
- thresiap2018June 13, 2026 at 6:07 PMGreat views and service. The hotel dominates the valley and doesn’t look very appealing from the outside but that belies the excellent hospitality that awaits on the inside. We had a lovely large room on the 4th floor with a balcony and views of the glacier and the paragliders landing in front of the hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was great with many options and excellent service from the staff.More
- ahauserJune 6, 2026 at 8:25 AMSolid, clean, friendly, ideal for mass tourism, no charme at allGood location, clean. solid and practical rooms, friendliy receptionists. Yet, the hotel and rooms seem optimized for a high quantity of guests who stay one night on an extended trip. The carpet, for example, seems optimized for a high tear However, the hotel has no charm at all. It might as well be at an airport.More
- VegigalMay 23, 2026 at 10:36 AMFantastic views and great location. We stayed at this hotel for a couple of nights during our trip through Switzerland. To be honest the aesthetics of it from the outside isn’t that appealing but inside looking out is amazing. We also had a fab room on the 12th floor. Nice and airy and looked straight over the park with the skies full of paragliders. Which was lovely to watch. The breakfast was plentiful and they surprised me with a lovely vegan selection both mornings. It’s ideally situated in town for the local shops and restaurants. And the train station is a 10 minute walk.More
- ksufan88May 18, 2026 at 9:41 AMGreat central location by Hohematte ParkWe liked just about everything at this hotel. The location by the large park was great for people watching from our balcony and viewing the numerous paragliders landing in the park. There is apparently no A/C, but we didn’t need it in May when the temperatures were only around 60F. The room was very quiet with a sitting area, plentiful storage areas and a well-designed bathroom with face cloths provided. The elevators were unusual in that you scanned your room key to summon it and chose your floor at that same time. There were no floor buttons in the elevator, and it only stopped on the floors that had been picked before entering the elevator. We ate breakfast and one dinner in the hotel restaurant. The breakfast selection was fairly good (bacon/sausages, eggs, rice, yogurts, meats, cheeses and breads). We noticed the restaurant acoustics were poor as it was difficult to have a conversation at our table if there were many other diners nearby talking very loudly.More
- alexbP4629GRMay 4, 2026 at 8:45 AMLovely hotel in central InterlakenWe stayed for 5 nights in the 8th floor with a great view and balcony overlooking Interlaken and the Jungfrau. We were greeted with a friendly welcome and smile. The room was large and with large window and door opening onto a balcony, it was serviced everyday with fresh towel and a freshen up. The breakfast was great with both a continental and hot buffet available plus we ate in a lovely room on the first floor overlooking the green and was a great place to watch the paragliders. Overall we had a lovely stay in The Metropole. We will use again next time we are in Interlaken.More
- karenmE1580SUMarch 14, 2026 at 11:59 AMVery pleasant stay.We had a lovely stay in the hotel, with very friendly, helpful staff. Our luggage was kept safely stored until moved up to our room by the staff. We had a very good room, with very comfortable bed. View was fantastic. Our only disappointment was the very limited breakfast selection. Cereals were limited. Fresh fruit selection was also limited. Very surprised there was not more choice of breads/ bread rolls/ pastries.More
- mushilFebruary 16, 2026 at 8:22 AMBreakfast is extremely bad!We stayed on 14th floor. Gorgeous view. But the breakfast is the worst i ever had. Nothing to choose from and all the food is ice cold.More
- maadt2025February 10, 2026 at 5:41 AMFantastic experienceWe booked this place via travel agency. It was amazing. Rooms are clean, comfortable, and have amazing views. They have a good breakfast as well. But what stood out most to us was the staff. They treated us with such kindness and professionalism. Tima specifically was in our opinion of the stars there. She was extremely nice and helpful and always greeted us with a smile everyday at the breakfast. The staff working with her and all throughout the hotel were by far the nicest people we met in Switzerland and all never hesitated to help out with any of our requests. The location of this place is also very good, right in the center of the city and very close to a train station. You get a beautiful view of the mountains and the park. This hotel is the description of great value for your money. And if Tima is reading this, thank you!!!More
- Voyage554554January 9, 2026 at 6:55 PMMixed Experience – Renovated Rooms but Disappointing DiningWe arrived by train and walked to the hotel from the station. Upon approaching, the building looked quite run down compared to the surrounding area, which was concerning. However, we were pleased to find that the interior had been recently renovated. Our room was modern, clean, and fresh, which was a welcome surprise. The hotel was going through renovations, and while the updated areas were nice, there were a few things that left us disappointed. First, there was no assistance with luggage, which was a bit of a hassle, especially after a long journey. The lift system was unlike anything I’ve seen before: you select the floor when you call the lift, and you need to use your room key. There are no buttons inside the lift itself. It took us a little while to figure out how it worked, and some guidance on how to use it would’ve been really helpful. The room was equipped with both European and Swiss-style sockets, and the free Wi-Fi worked well. These small touches made our stay a little more comfortable. However, the biggest issue for us was the food, which led to us giving this hotel only 3 stars. Breakfast was adequate but nothing special. Dinner portions were small, and very limited in choice. The New Year’s Eve "Gala" dinner was a huge disappointment. The starter and dessert were buffet-style, but the main course, of which there was no choice at all, was served as veal, which no one in our group ate. It looked undercooked and unappetising. To make matters worse, there weren’t enough staff to handle the number of guests, which caused long delays between courses. The tables weren’t served in a coordinated manner, so some guests had finished their meals before others were even served. This made the experience feel disorganised and frustrating. Although the renovated rooms were pleasant, the issues with the food and service left us with a sour impression. Given the overall experience, we would not return.More
- L3539GHmikegDecember 21, 2025 at 3:02 AMMy favourite hotel in InterlakenFirst, let's address the elephant in the room. This hotel is incredibly ugly from the outside. There, I said it. But inside, it's gorgeous, the staff are friendly, the rooms are incredibly good value for money, and almost all have amazing views of the mountain. I had a room on the 12th floor, it was clean, modern, with USB sockets next to the desk and next to the bed. Actually, next to the desk is a Swiss electric socket and an EU electric socket... that's pretty cool. The room also has a balcony (most have mountain views) and a small fridge. They are modernising all of the rooms, and they are really modern and comfortable. There is a nice exercise room downstairs, and a small sauna area. One huge tip: the hotel offers "Half-Board" for 39 CHF per person, but unlike every other hotel in the world, this just gets you either a lunch or a dinner, nothing else. It doesn't include breakfast (which costs 25 CHF). Sorry, but that's not what "Half Board" means.... you've been warned ! Otherwise, there's a free coffee machine on the first floor, and a Coop Pronto supermarket just across the road, where you can get a massive coffee for 4.50 CHF, and plenty of bars and restaurants 2-3 minutes walk away. This is absolutely my favourite hotel in Interlaken, in a perfect location. I have nothing negative to say about it, and I can't wait to go back.More
- Trippin2018December 13, 2025 at 2:04 PMBook your stay at Metropole, you won’t be sorry!Webster’s dictionary should put Metropole’s photo next to its definition of a great hotel. No exaggeration. The check in was quick, utterly professional and friendly staff paid attention to what we needed as two older guests after a long day of traveling, and got it done with empathy. Room was tastefully appointed and functional - plenty of charging ports, great water pressure in the shower, quiet with a great view, space well used for necessities rather than silly over-furnishing. Housekeeping was great, so were the lovely staff in the restaurant (great food by the way), and the front desk staff are the real assets of the hotel. Everything worked as it should, we rested well, got all our questions about sightseeing or nearby restaurants, markets promptly answered, rooms and common areas were impeccable and we felt safe staying there. Book your stay at the Metropole, you won’t be sorry!More
- hotelreview77December 9, 2025 at 4:01 AMComing back for sureGreat location, beautiful rooms, excellent sleep quality. The Roof Resteraunt has amazing views, good quality food and the service staff is amazing. Try the special deserts displayed at the entrance of the restaurant. Front office staff is professional and sincerely helpful. Even the taxis you book through them are very helpful. Perfect gem of a place. Will definitely stay here again when in Interlaken.More
