India Village Restaurant, Interlaken

Didn’t have high hopes for this restaurant, on the edge of town next to a campsite. But, boy was I wrong!! One of the best Indian meals I have ever had. The pakora starter was fresh and light. The main meals were full of flavour with just the right level of spice (thanks to some great advice from the waitress). The rice and naan bread were great, we ordered more naan! Even the new boy who collected the plates was polite, efficient and unobtrusive!! All in all a great night out. We even managed to have a nice conversation with the boss. Check this place out. The servers were friendly. The food was delicious. Our only complaint was that we love spicy Indian food and the woman server kept insisting it would be too spicy. So, two of us ordered medium and two ordered hot. The medium was definitely not hot enough and the hot could have been hotter. Having said that, the food was delicious.

A wonderful restaurant in Interlaken. Remarkably food with deep, intricate flavours. Warm and friendly people running the restaurant. Cannot do better in Interlaken, let alone Switzerland!

This is probably the best Indian food I’ve ever had, and certainly one of the best meals. Every dish was delicious and perfectly calibrated to our spice levels which we described to the waitress. Some of the vegetarians in our party had multiple bites of the butter chicken sauce because it was just that good. I could not recommend India Village more if you’re in Interlaken, or even a few hours away. The service was also top-notch. The owners explained the art on the walls to us after we asked about it, and they even gave us a free ride back to our hotel when it started raining during dinner. The views of the area and river nearby are breathtaking as well. This is a meal and an experience you’ll remember for a lifetime!

Freshly cooked quality Indian food by an Indian family with a big heart for their restaurant and service. We enjoyed it very much. Extra bonus points: - They have a very nice wine list (let’s be honest, not every Indian restaurant focusses on this, this one does) - a relaxed terras to eat outside just far enough from the noise of the city, close enough to reach by foot. - a nice view on the Mountains. Eating quality food in a postcard :-)

The food was exceptional. We have dined at Indian restaurants many places around the world and India Village in Interlaken was top notch. We loved it so much we went 2 nights in a row. It’s a very comfortable restaurant with wonderful people servicing it. While it is within the campground in Interlaken, the restaurant itself is anything but rustic. Very easy to get to from the area of Interlaken Ost. We enjoyed walking along the river to and from dinner. If you appreciate good Indian food, don’t miss India Village Restaurant!

Yesterday we had lunch as family and had an amazing experience as the food was top notch and extremely delicious. The couple who are running this restaurant are one of the most amazing and kind people we met in interlaken. They serve food with love. Please visit this restaurant whosoever is coming to interlaken. Kudos to the team and wishing them all the love and god bless the family!!!!!

What a gem! India Village Restaurant truly lives up to its top ranking in Interlaken. We ordered the butter chicken, vegetable biryani, and fish curry, and every dish was absolutely awesome. Rich, flavorful, perfectly spiced, and authentically Indian without being overly heavy or oily. The butter chicken was creamy and tender, the vegetable biryani fragrant with fresh veggies and aromatic rice, and the fish curry had just the right kick with succulent and really fresh fish pieces. But what made the experience even better was the owner: incredibly friendly, humble, and attentive. He made us feel so welcome and ensured everything was perfect. If you’re craving real Indian cuisine in Switzerland, this is the place. Highly recommend we’ll be back!

My boyfriend and I had a very nice dinner at this restaurant. We both enjoyed our food and would recommend the restaurant. We had seen the great reviews online, and the clerk at our hotel recommended the restaurant. As others have mentioned, the owner was kind enough to drive us back to our hotel. The owner seems to take a lot of pride in his restaurant and his surrounding businesses.

I dined with friends, one of whom had food allergies and they were very accommodating. It’s also the first time I’ve been to an Indian restaurant where mild really was mild. We left stuffed and happy - one of our best meals in Interlaken.

Excellent, authentic dinner. Food was superb, as was the service. Hostess insisted that they take us to catch our train, as it was raining - that is a step above.
