The route starts at the station in Spiez. During the bike ride, you will mostly have the sparkling Lake Thun and the turquoise Lake Brienz as well as the magnificent mountain panorama of the Bernese Oberland in view. The postcard idyll is perfect. As cliché as it may seem, this is indeed the case on this bike route. The quaint villages with their distinctive church towers and geranium-covered windows further enhance the idyll. The route first runs along Lake Thun up to Interlaken. A beautiful lakeside path then takes you to Iseltwald and further up to the Giessbach waterfalls. With a loud roar, the water cascades down several tiers into Lake Brienz. It is worth stopping here to refresh yourself with a small snack at the restaurant. A flat path with a magnificent view of the Hasliberg and the Susten massif finally leads you to Meiringen. This section of the lake route ends there.
