Restaurant El Azteca, Interlaken

If you want Tex mex this is not your place. But if you want the flavors your host mother made the year you went on exchange to Mexico this place is prefect. This place has the authentic taste of homemade Mexican food. It almost made me cry how much it took me back. The flavors of the enchiladas sauces you can tell took hours 10/10 try this place.

Always a great experience. The food is excellent- a little on the spicy side- which we like. There is a broad menu and the portions are ample We have eaten here annually since 2014 and are now treated like family. Several nights a week the owner strums a guitar and sings- adding two the excellent atmosphere and experience. Looking forward to returning this year

Everytime - great experience !!! I go there since years and they never dissapoint !!! Drinks 🍹, food🌮, service …and the ATMOSPHERE always top 🤩 !!! If you’re lucky you can hear some great life music too 🪇🪕🪘🎶 Really… highly recommend place if you’re in Interlaken ( just better make reservation- ‘cos it’s pretty busy place).

We spotted this restaurant on an evening walk, it looked busy so we decided to reserve for the next night. The food was delicious, we had the fajitas & quesidilas. Local beer was good. Service super quick and they were very accommodating to walk ins. Highly recommend!

The food was excellent across the board, but what really stood out was the atmosphere. Partway through the meal, the waiters brought out guitars and started playing live music - they took song requests, told jokes, and had the whole place singing along. It went from a great dinner to something way more fun&memorable. You could tell everyone was having a genuinely good time. Definitely going back if I ever visit Interlaken again.

Who goes to a Mexican restaurant in Switzerland? We did and we were part of a bus tour touring the country. The service at El Azteca was superb. The waiters were friendly and worked tirelessly for hours. Food and drinks were really good quality. An added bonus was Rafael who sang and played guitar. His voice is lovely and he played a wonderful assortment of of Spanish and Italian music. He really brought the room alive. Highly recommended on your next visit to Interlaken.

Excellent food and very good service. Every friendly staff. Do not miss out on having the split banana dessert fried in tequila !

The BEST restaurant in Interlaken! Delicious authentic food and tasty drinks. Go on Saturday for the best live music! Be sure to call ahead to make your reservation for the best experience! Carlos was the best!

One star only and only for the cold and unwelcoming attitude and arrogance of the Costa Rican server (By his own admission) server towards us, when we visited. The food is lovely, the restaurant quaint. Alas, this chap ruined the experience for us.

We felt like eating Nachos and went to this restaurant. Their Vegetarian Nachos were tasty and large enough for us to share along with chips & Salsa. The Swiss beer on tap went well with the Nachos. The service was very good. Highly recommend.

We are from Texas and the food was fantastic. Flavored margaritas were blended with fresh fruit. El Azteca fajita plate and guacamole starter were both delicious. Service was fantastic; Susanna took great care of us, and even shared some hiking recommendations for the rest of our trip.
