Goldener Anker, Interlaken

We had a great evening meal here. Food was delicious and service excellent. Chicken cordon bleu and steak tartare were especially good. The atmosphere was nice and staff friendly.

We came for an early dinner. The menu was not large, but they had a page with their nightly specials. We ordered a chicken and steak dish. Both came with salad and a potato side. The dishes we're fresh, tasty and plentiful. The chicken dish came with a red chimichurri sauce, fries and a side salad. The chimichurri was delicious and something about the french fries in europe; they are incredible. I hate to even admit I ate french fries in europe but they are so good! The salad was simple, and the vinaigrette on it was divine. The steak came with the same sides fries and a salad. The steak was topped with a caramelized onion jam. One of the best steaks I've had in my life! It was cooked perfectly medium rare. The prices were reasonable. Service was good. If there was one complaint, it would be that we could see staff going outside to smoke and it didn't appear that they washed their hands.

As other reviewers mentioned, we found the atmosphere, food, and service to be excellent. My husband follows a carnivore diet and would recommend their beef tartar and their steaks. They make a simple green salad upscale with special twists like replacing ordinary croutons with filo wrapped goat cheese. David and the rest of the staff provided top notch customer service.

Outdoor terrace ideal for trainspotting lol. Good beer selection and the Rosti fries make for a great snack to accompany any drinks.

The food and service was incredible! Everyone was so kind. Everything we had was delicious! We were seated quickly and food came out quick and warm.

While visiting Interlaken, my husband and I stopped in after a full day of sightseeing. The service was perfectly paced. We enjoyed an aperitif before ordering dinner because the restaurant had such a lovely ambiance. The cured chard with shaved pumpkin was one of the best appetizers we’ve ever had. Our entrees (goose breast & rabbit) were equally delightful. This dining experience will be one of the highlights of our trip!

Wonderful food, service and atmosphere! We had a lovely evening. Highly recommend this restaurant. Will definitely visit again if we’re in Interlaken in the future.

The place is great for spending quality time with friends and family. Food and drinks are fantastic taste. The service is impressive, good people. Ask for Gabriel, an excellent bartender who also speaks in Spanish🇪🇸.

Day 4 of our Swiss rail tour and we are in Interlarken. We were looking for something easy for dinner with a good vibe. I found Goldener Anker on google as it was close to our hotel and the food looked good from previous photos online. The decor in this place gives quite a homely feeling and the staff were just as welcoming. My partner and i ordered the Chicken Cordon Bleu and the Beef Burger with both meals absolutely filling the belly ! This place made up for the disappointment from a restaurant in Montreux the night before. Highly recommend if you are hungry as the meals were large, but reasonable in price.

We ate an outstanding meal at the Goldener Anker. The restaurant had a gentle ambiance, and was very quiet the evening we attended (it must be Interlarken’s best kept secret!). My husband (who is not a chicken fan) claimed that the chicken risotto was the best he had ever eaten! I ordered the beef with vegetables (I always find it difficult to get meals with enough vegetables when traveling in Europe) - the beef was cooked exactly as I requested with just the right amount of veges. We also ordered a salad to share (due to me never getting enough green stuff!), it was absolutely delicious, but we could have done without this as the main course was so large and the restaurant provided a complimentary starter and bread. Both the wine and meal were reasonably priced. I would highly recommend this restaurant when in Interlarken.
