The trail is popular with anyone who fancies a short break in the hills without having to set off on a long hike. The gentle gradient and the good condition of the path (forest track) mean that the trail is suitable for people of all ages.
At the top station of the chairlift, there’s a small self-service kiosk with seating. This means you can grab a bite to eat before setting off, or enjoy the sun for a while after you get back, before taking the cable car back down to the valley.

Directions
- From the top station of the chairlift, follow the brown signpost marked ‘Rundwanderung Stierenberg’. The path first climbs a few metres in altitude to the nearby alp. It then winds up and down briskly until you reach the GrimmiJutz barbecue spot (post 4). Here, turn back, walk a few metres along the same path you came on, and at the fork in the path, take the lower, left-hand path marked “Rundwanderung Stierenberg”. This will take you back to the starting point.
Equipment
- The path is easy, but we still recommend wearing shoes with a bit of grip. The path takes you to a lovely barbecue spot with great views, complete with tables and benches: don’t forget to pack something to barbecue or a picnic.

Author´s Tip / Recommendation of the author
- Why not make the most of your time on the mountain with a round of mountain golf? Mountain golf is similar to mini-golf, except that it’s played out in the open countryside rather than on traditional courses. It’s great fun for families and groups alike.
