Hotel und Restaurant Bären, Sigriswil

We spend a night at this Hotel with breakfast. We slept very well (good beds) but the rooms and the hotel are a bit old and the cleaness in the room could be better. Breakfast was good. We are not totally happy with price & value but all in all OK.

We were only staying one night. We had asked for a superior room, and the room was very nice, but we weren't on the side facing the lake and mountain views. The Wi-Fi was free but a bit frustrating as we had to keep logging in, but it was decent performance. Parking was free and no problem, and the drive up the hill from the main road was straightforward. The view from the breakfast room is glorious. Including the delightful church just across the road. Bit disappointing that a cooked breakfast was extra but the breakfast selection was very nice.

Beautiful and relaxing town with good hosts and surprisingly great food at the restaurant and breakfast buffet. Views from my balcony in pictures but we did 'pay for it'

Stayed for two nights. When I booked the hotel I thought it was by the lake but it was on top of a mountain overlooking the lake. I arrived on Sunday afternoon and the hotel and the restaurant were packed. They checked me in fast and have me the room, in about 10-minutes the hotel manager came and asked us if you wanted to stay in a junior suit facing down to the lake, of course we accepted it and waited for about half an hour. The room was spacious and had a big balcony. The furniture was good and clean and the toilet was renovated. Coffee maker and bottled water was available free and breakfast was included. Next day we had our breakfast and it was strange that there wasn't anyone in the restaurant. They told us that we were the only guest today and there will be another one coming tomorrow , there was no one except the lady who served us breakfast, cleaned the hotel and our room. When we wanted to go out, we were locked in as no one was in the hotel , fortunately we found the button which opens the door , when we came back in the evening we had to do some searching to find the electronic key to.open the door. There is no frig in the room but the tap water is so cold you do not need a frig at all. On the final day we asked when is their high season and they told us it is summer, winter is not a season so the services are much more personalized. So if you want to try this hotel then stay in any season but summer.

Try it, best Gourmet Familie Style cooking. You will not be disappointed. Variety is Great. Changed with Everest Season . Truly super food and Service ....

If you like meat, you will like the restaurant at the Baren hotel. On certain nights they serve a meat menu with meats from everywhere. The atmosphere is excellent. Naturally, prices by non-Swiss standards are high.

We had a Fondue Chinoise at the Bären in Sigriswil which was excellent. Varieties of meat, a good selection of local and imported wines and most important ... it was all-you-can-eat.

Very nice place and good service. We have had 2 different fondue and a nice house wine for in total CHF 85.

Very close to the bridge. We only had coffee there which was excellent. Service, too. English speaking waitress. They have an offer 2 for 1 from the bridge ticket.

Burnt omlettes everday for breakfast. The food is priced at a a luxury hotel rating. Not worth the money.
