- mrdavemacSeptember 3, 2026 at 1:26 PMPerfect locationNice hotel in an ideal location. 3 min walk from the main part of town along the beautiful waterfront. Similar distance to a cool swimming location with a diving board, pontoon and cafe in the other direction. Such a beautiful little town. Our room was nice, but being in the attic with a Mountain view, it was very hot in there with no air flow. The room needs either a wall fan or air con. I couldn't imagine how hot it would be in the peak of summer. Space was also an issue. No room to open your suitcases up. The rooms on the lake side, particularly the ones with the large balconies would be great. Breakfast was very good. Our real disappointment was our dinner in the restaurant. The salad was good but our mains were very ordinary. Very expensive and lacking. I got a fish dish which was basically 4 small bits of fish on rice, my wife got the veal which was a small piece of veal, plain pasta and a couple of veggies. Not good bang for your buck! The Bratwurst which is considerably cheaper is probably the best pick. The German waitress who served us named Marie was very good. Very friendly and helpful in explaining the dishes. Likewise to Sandra who checked us in on arrival.More
- M3745VKdanigJuly 11, 2026 at 2:28 PMWorst manager with glassesFound a wasp in my pint. I told the manager and expected a new drink. Instead, she took the wasp out with a fork and gave the same pint back. I’m allergic to wasps, so this was completely unacceptable. Basic customer service would be replacing the drink, not fishing the insect out and pretending nothing happened. One of the worst responses to a customer complaint I’ve experienced.More
- E1810WTmikeeAugust 6, 2025 at 3:56 PM5 star all the wayEverything excellent.i will just say a few minor inconveniences. No grip handle in shower or rail to pool, essential for older guests. Hotel of this standard should have omelette station at breakfast, the sausages are for germans not Brits.Bacon is too limp.i prefer crispy bacon. Being picky i know but these changes would make for perfectionMore
- NielioanMay 16, 2024 at 1:41 PMcool chalet du lacwe were billeted in one of the rooms at the second floor. coming from geneva, it took us four hours to reach this hotel via a taxi from the train station. our room was gorgeous albeit the wooden tiles squeaked as we walked around. there was a terrace that could give you a lakeview of brienz that reflected the ice-capped mountains surrounding our hotel. this part of the town was absolutely breath-taking. the bathroom was equipped with a heater that kept the whole area warm. although it looked kinda old, the floor and wall tiles were kept clean and the whole room fragrant. there was breakfast at the ground floor that went with the room rate. the hotel staff was very friendly and fun to talk to.More
- smackinlayMay 10, 2024 at 3:54 AMAmazing hotel and foodFound this place by accident and stayed one night. Beautiful view over the lake. Restaurant serves amazing food and staff couldn’t be more helpful. Lots of walking trails around the lake . Very quiet and peaceful place. The hotel provide free bus passes to get into Interlaken.More

- pikay23October 11, 2022 at 3:25 PMPriceless view!!!We chose this hotel as our 2nd base after Lauterbrunnen simply because of the wonderful and very peaceful surroundings. We only booked the budget room but they upgraded us to Family room with nice view of the Iseltwald castle and a balcony overlooking the mountain. The guy at the reception was very accommodating, even offered his help in bringing our luggages to our room at the 3rd floor (no elevator, btw) as this is a traditional chalet. The breakfast selection is ok, enough to give you fuel to start the day. Unfortunately their restaurant was closed for the whole duration of our stay, we were really looking forward to have our dinner there, too bad. If you have money to spare, I suggest to book their chalets with balconies facing the lake, the view is to die for.More
- MickeyR162May 22, 2022 at 6:24 PMFantastic situation and amazing service3rd time here but not the last and now with friends, such an amazing situation/view just by the lake, a hotel with great food and drinks, but the most incredible is the friendly and positive staff, we were again amazed ! Well done and keep up the good workMore

- 344blankasJune 18, 2020 at 11:40 AMSpotless, wonderful experienceHotel Chalet Du Lac was a truly wonderful experience with the stunning lake views, the extremely hospitable staff and the great meals. The restaurant has a great menu of mainly fish meals and their signature fish stew is truly remarkable. The superior single room was spacious enough for one person and the balcony with the view of the lake was the perfect hangout spot for a late evening glass of wine.More
- Maddison65September 2, 2019 at 2:56 PMFabulous LocationWe stayed here just the two nights to sample a little bit of Switzerland and loved it! We have to say we were lucky with the weather throughout our stay was amazing: blue skies, mid to high 20’s temperature wise and the lake looked sublime. It’s a stunning location. The hotel, apart from a small very quiet road, is right on the lake looking directly at the beautiful and famous Seeburg house and, by its name is obviously a chalet design. This adds to the Swiss experience though is perhaps its only drawback with the wooden interior retaining its heat through the night in spite of leaving doors and windows open so we didn’t have the best sleep. (I’m guessing this is a plus when it’s not so warm.) Our lake view double room with balcony was, otherwise, lovely: two adjacent single beds, a separate small sofa, plenty of storage space while the shower in the separate bathroom was very powerful. The balcony also had a table and two chairs to enjoy the amazing view. The hotel has its own restaurant with terrace area out front (below our room) which was popular for both drinks and dinner. We ate their one night and really enjoyed the local fish, the good choice of local wine and the attentive service. However, we had a drink a little earlier in the afternoon when it was busier and the drinks’ waiter was a bit frantic. Breakfast options were limited to traditional cold buffet options but were fine. Service at the front desk was also friendly and helpful though it was difficult to track someone down at times. Although about 10km from Interlaken and the station, it’s relatively easy to get around without a car: there is an hourly free (stopping) public bus to Interlaken Ost station while there are several daily ferry services to take you around the lake (which do come at a price) and of course taxis (at a greater price). The ferry stop is about 5 mins walk away. Iseltwald is a beautiful village with a little supermarket and a handful of other restaurants/drinking venues. WiFi quality was good throughout the hotel, extending partly to the terrace. Overall, a fabulous little piece of Switzerland and a great place to spend a few days.More
- 788manifJune 30, 2019 at 5:20 PMFantastic !We stayed there for only one night and I wish we had stayed much longer . Beautiful and cozy place with great views . The staff were very friendly and the room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast also had a good variety. Free parking is available in the back of the hotel. Overall , it was a great stay . We’d recommend checking out the Interlaken town and get on the cable car (28 CHF with the hotel’s discount/ person) and enjoy the great views of jungfrau mountains . We’d go back there again in a heart beat !More
