  • Start: Gstaad Kapälliplatz
  • Destination: Saanen Mauritiuskirche
Along this path by the Saane, 12 panels with quotes from Lord Yehudi Menuhin (1916 – 1999) accompany the hiker. The great musician, violinist, humanist, and honorary citizen of the municipality of Saanen founded the now world-famous Menuhin Festival in 1957.

From Kapälliplatz in Gstaad, stroll towards Saanen up to the Galerie Atelier d'Artiste. Pass the railway underpass towards Gschwend and follow the Saane. A quiet, shady path leads from there along the river to the Alpenruhe Foundation – a home for disabled people with a cafeteria and a petting zoo. Then hike to the Chouflisbach, which leads you back to the Saane. Follow it until you reach the village of Saanen. After a recommended visit to the Museum of the Saanen Landscape and the Menuhin Center Saanen, your walk ends at the nearby Mauritiuskirche.
