- Destination: Saanenmöser, train station
The prepared winter hiking trail starts directly at the train station in Saanenmöser. In the first part, you climb up to just below the middle station of the Saanersloch cable car. On the way, you pass the Euterbar (ski bar) and there cross the ski slope (caution). Then the path leads through the Horebachgrabe and gently rises to the Gstaad-Saanenland golf course.
The next section over the golf course is the most beautiful part of the hike. Almost flat, you cross the deeply snow-covered and deserted golf course. The views of the mountains of the Lower and Upper Simmental with the Spielgerten and back towards Château-d'oex with the distinctive Rubli peak are unique. At the end of the golf course, the winter hiking trail turns and rises more steeply again. Soon the mountain restaurant Kübeli appears. You should treat yourself to a stop on its sun terrace!
The return path first leads slightly uphill and then flat towards the restaurant Lochstaffel. Be careful when crossing the slope. From Lochstaffel, the winter hiking trail follows the forest edge downhill towards the middle station; after a forest passage, you reach the main hub of the ski facilities. From here, you can take the gondola back to Saanenmöser or hike down the descent via the ascent route from the Euter Bar.
The ascent and descent can also be combined with the gondola (to/from the middle station).
