- Start: Lauterbrunnen
- Destination: Stechelberg
From Lauterbrunnen station, follow the village street initially to the Hotel Schützen. In winter, the Staubbach is only a thin trickle that immediately dissipates into an almost invisible mist. Nevertheless, the constant flow leads to enchanting, extraordinarily large icicle formations on very cold nights. Under the influence of the sun, these crash down with impressive thunder during the day. Grosshorn, Breithorn and Mittaghorn form a majestic backdrop in the valley. The path leads over a low-traffic road always southward and straight on, past the junction “Bir Buechen,” to Stägmatta. Here the route again becomes a footpath, which runs through light riparian woods along the Lütschine past the houses of Lengwald and Matta to the destination Stechelberg.
