From the Gasterntal over the Lötschenpass to Lauchernalp

Spectacular: the bus ride over the vertical cliffs of the gravel road carved out of the rock above the wildly foaming Kander. Romantic: the water, meadow, and flower paradise Gasterntal. Historical: the village of Selden, which already existed before Kandersteg because it was on a mule track, and even Johanna Spyri would have attended school here, the well-informed bus driver tells. Cozy: the "Steinbock" at the starting point. And spectacular: the winding ascent over the rocky glacier remains to the panoramic Lötschenpass and its inviting mountain inn. But all this is topped by the view of the impressive pyramid of the almost four-thousander Bietschhorn, which you can even enjoy from the water of one of the small lakes. Or could, as this water is cold. But that would be good, because the descent is steep until the cable car at Lauchernalp reliably prevents knees and thigh muscles from complaining.
