First impressions weren’t great, however after the niggles were fixed we liked this hotel
We debated where to stay in the Jungfrau region and decided Interlaken would be a great base should we not have great weather to Jungfraujoch, Grindelwald etc. We were first undecided (due to noise concerns) about the hotel when we first entered our room. Mainly due to it overlooking the train station and having extractor fans just below the room (we were in room 324). The train sounds wasn’t a problem as the windows are double glazed, and once we discovered the external window wasn’t shut properly we also stopped the noise from the extractor fans. We always look for quiet accommodation and this did eventually tick the boxes. Breakfast was good, rooms were clean, staff were friendly, room had fantastic view and obviously location to train station was excellent.

    5 day January 2026 Stay
Updated room was clean and pleasant. Lunches were the same every day: cheese and/ or ham sandwiches. Egg sandwiches arrived a day later than requested. Same cake every day. Dining room was uncomfortable and too hot at dinner. Dinners were ok but lacked choice: it was similar every day. Meat fondue for dinner raised queries/concerns. Diners had to cook their own strips of pork/turkey/ beef. Diners mixed raw meat with cooked meat in the fondue pot. Dining staff were extremely helpful and pleasant.

The junior suites DO NOT HAVE A FUNCTIONAL SHOWER. A horrible experience.
We upgraded to the Junior suite thinking we would spoil ourselves. Little did we know this would be a huge disappointment. Whilst the room was large and well appointed, the main reason why I have scored this hotel so low with a two star review is for the following reason: THERE IS NO FUNCTIONAL SHOWER hard to believe, the brochures say there is a shower but there is no shower in the huge poorly designed bathroom. There is only a bath. Now there is a nozzle but it is attached to a flexible hose on the bath. The only way to try to shower yourself is to hold the nozzle in one hand whilst trying to apply soap from a two handed canister. They even provide a sit down stool so you can sit down whilst showering - this makes you feel like a handicapped person needing special needs. Not only that, but the sink had a horrible rough application applied over the porcelain. This is a disaster and totally ruined our experience at this hotel. DO NOT RESERVE THE JUNIOR SUITES FOR THIS REASON ALONE. the bathroom needs to be renovated urgently.

Rules are weird, but a nice stay
Location: Few mins walk from Interlaken Ost station, which is extremely important for catching early morning trains Around 15 mins walk to the casino/busiest part of the city Room: Decent and elegantly decorated, the bathroom was very modern Enough space for opening suitcase Bed is comfortable Staff: Very friendly There are quite a number of rules in this hotel, which you will have to be penalised if you don’t follow (such as losing key, calling for non-emergency assistance, showering outside the bathtub), it is kind of weird, but staff explained everything in detail and nicely. Breakfast: Usual breakfast option, which was good enough to start your day to the mountains of Switzerland Overall: Satisfied with this hotel

Authentic, cosy and tasty Swiss restaurant
A quaint and authentic Swiss restaurant with a great selection of food and drinks. We were outside on the furry seats and shared a cheese fondue with pork meal and had a nice glass of wine and warm Aperol to wash it all down. Inside it was toastie warm outside there was hearing if needed. Mmm, delicious.

Don't bother - you will be cancelled.
We were looking forward to the vegan fondue, which had received rave reviews. We booked 3 times - each time the booking was cancelled - the final one notifying us just 2 hours before, inconveniencing us with having to find somewhere else at short notice. No explanations or apologies - nothing. Then we received a fine for non-attendance!!! This was refunded later.

    Awful experience.
We walked a one hour round-trip to go to the brewery. Service was appalling, despite being empty! Staff and ‘manager’ just rude.
