Experiences in Habkern

In this suggestion, the view of the triumvirate Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau is to be literally hiked: these three mountains are not visible at the starting point but appear gradually during the hike. At the end of the route, about 1 km of hard surface.

Snowshoeing is not permitted off the marked trails in the Habkern moorland, but what could be better than hiking on a good path through untouched winter landscapes that are not trampled by wild snowshoe tracks? The largest moorland in Switzerland connects the municipalities of Habkern and Sörenberg. One of the most charming moor areas – in this already scenic region – is the Schwarzbach-Möser nature reserve.

The hike offers unique views of Lake Brienz and Lake Thun and the surrounding mountain peaks. With some luck, ibexes can be seen and allow you to approach them to within a few meters. Suitable for this nature experience: no hard surface.

A winter hiking experience around the small mountain farming village of Habkern. At the foot of the Hohgant and the Sieben Hengste, where eagles and lynxes feel at home and the Emme originates, many impressive views await.

The winter hiking trail takes you through the stunning winter landscape of the Lombachalp.

This route allows you to hike one of the most beautiful and easiest to walk sections of the Brienzergrat. The panorama over the turquoise Brienzersee with the high and snow-covered mountains above provides an impressive hiking experience. If you take the first bus to Lombachalp in the morning, the chances are also good to observe ibex on the Augstmatthorn.

The Hohgant appears mighty with its massive walls of Schratten limestone. Standing on its summit, the grand panorama of the Säntis to the east, the Urner Alps, and the Bernese High Alps up to Les Diablerets is impressive. In good visibility, the Mont Blanc massif can even be seen.
