Frequently asked questions ### General questions - Do all guests receive the Interlaken Pass from the first night? Overnight guests in the municipalities of Interlaken, Matten, Unterseen, Wilderswil, Gsteigwiler, Saxeten, Bönigen, Iseltwald, Ringgenberg, Goldswil and Niederried pay visitor’s tax from the first night and are therefore entitled to receive the Interlaken Pass. - Does each guest need an individual Interlaken Pass? Yes, each guest requires an Interlaken Pass. The Interlaken Pass is non-transferable and is only valid for the registered individual. - I am a holiday apartment owner. How do I issue Interlaken Passes to my guests? As a host of registered accommodation in the area covered by the association, you can find out above how to issue Interlaken passes. Please use the relevant instructions for your accommodation type. - Am I allowed to issue a «test card» in my own name in order to practice the process and also run through it from the guest’s perspective? You are welcome to issue a «test card» in your own name. Use the Pre-CheckIn link to register, convert the link into a pre-registration and send the Interlaken Pass to yourself.  Then cancel the pre-registration; this will render the Interlaken Pass invalid. Please contact the Interlaken Pass Product Manager if you have any questions: - Is there a Feratel app? There is currently no Feratel Deskline WebClient app. The system can be accessed via the Feratel Deskline WebClient web browser. - What is the Interlaken Guide and what does it include The Interlaken Guide is a digital companion to support you throughout your stay in the Holiday Region Interlaken. The Interlaken Guide offers access to free public Wi-Fi in Interlaken and digital storage of your Interlaken Pass and combines navigation, inspiration, and information all in one application. This creates tangible added value for your entire trip. An interactive map makes it easy to find your way around the Interlaken Region. In addition, the Inspiration section invites visitors to discover experiences, restaurants, photo spots, and other offers. An integrated chatbot answers your questions about Interlaken at any time – quickly, reliably, and in 25 languages. ### What happens, if… - …the guest has entered incorrect information in the link and submitted it and then informs me? Guest details can be changed by you as the host at any time. Once the Pre-CheckIn link has been converted into a pre-registration, you can change the data accordingly. - …I don’t have all the necessary guest details? We recommend that you send the Pre-CheckIn link to the guest prior to arrival with a request to complete registration. The link can also be provided in the accommodation in the form of a QR code. Guests can still register on-site using the QR code. - …my guest doesn’t have an e-mail address or a smartphone? Paper guest cards in credit card form will continue to be available in limited quantities. Our recommendation is to enter guest details manually in the system and then print out the Interlaken Pass as a print@home version and make it available at the accommodation. - …the guest extends their stay? Do I need to create a new Interlaken Pass? No, you can change the departure date in the system. The Interlaken Pass will be automatically updated. The guest can reopen the link in the email they receive and will see the updated Interlaken Pass straight away. - …the guest does not want an Interlaken Pass? Do I still have to enter the data? If you use automated visitor’s tax settlement, guest registration is mandatory. In accordance with the directive of the Canton of Bern, you must collect the mandatory fields on the registration form from your guest. If you do not receive any or incomplete information from the guest, you can add «Guest 2» for the name, for example, or the zip code and town/city with the details of the accommodation. This should only be done in an absolute emergency. - …someone does not fill in their details via the Pre-CheckIn link? The guest will therefore not receive an Interlaken Pass. There are basically two options: 1. **The guest does not want an Interlaken Pass** This means that you simply complete the registration for the visitor’s tax statement and fill in the required information at check-in. 2. **The guest would like to receive the Interlaken Pass** The guest can then complete the pre-check-in link you provided. You must then verify this and issue the Interlaken Pass - …the guest does not want an Interlaken Pass? Will the visitor’s tax be reduced in this case? No, the Interlaken Pass is offered to guests as an added benefit. However, declining it does not result in a reduction of the visitor’s tax. ### Questions about use - How do I change the system to English for myself and my employees? Use the following button to log in in English - What is the difference between Pre-CheckIn, Pre-registration and Registration? The Pre-CheckIn includes the guest’s registration by the guest themselves. This Pre-CheckIn will be converted into a Pre-registration by you as the host during the subsequent data verification process. You can then send the Interlaken Pass based on the pre-registration. 24 hours after arrival, the pre-registration is automatically converted into registration, which is equivalent to a registration form. This registration is automatically closed 48 hours after departure. This registration form can then no longer be edited. - When should the link be sent to the guest? The date of issue of the Interlaken Pass is at your discretion as the host. We recommend that you include the link in an email to the guest with important travel information 3 to 7 days before arrival. The booking confirmation is generally too early. - Can I send the link directly in English? Yes, use Pre-CheckIn to open the link you want to send. Then change the language to English at the top right. The language identifier in the URL changes. You can now copy this link and paste it into your communication. The guest then opens it directly in English. - Is it always the same link for my accommodation? Yes, there is a link for each accommodation that you send to your guests. - I have several accommodations that I rent. Is there a separate link for each accommodation? Yes, there is a link for each accommodation. If you have more than one accommodation, you can switch between them under pre-check-in in the section at the top. Please make sure that you send guests the correct link for the appropriate accommodation. This is important for correct visitor’s tax settlement. - How do I generate a QR code from the link that I can place at reception or in the room? There are various websites on which you can generate a QR code free of charge. These are called «QR code generator» . - Can I personalize the emails (summary of registration or Interlaken Pass email) sent to the guest? No, you cannot personalize these emails. However, you can personalize the layout of your Pre-CheckIn link under «Link and form configuration». - Where can I see if I still have to send a guest card? In «guest cards»  is the tab «card delivery». Here you can see all the cards that still need to be sent. - Can I also print out the Interlaken Pass for the guest? This is possible in theory. However, we do not recommend it.  Printing will invalidate the online guest card and the guest will no longer be able to use it. If the guest card needs to be printed out, this can be done **before** sending the Interlaken Pass. - When and how do guests receive the Interlaken Pass? Before arrival, the guest will receive an e-mail from you as the host with all information about the Interlaken Pass. You can initiate this manually in the WebClient. This is automatically triggered by the system during the night at least one day before the guest’s arrival. Please note that each guest must have entered an email address for this purpose. If this has not been saved, only the main booker will receive the Interlaken Pass; accompanying guests will not receive one. The guest will receive their Interlaken Pass by e-mail in the form of a mobile card (always available online), which they can add to their wallet (also available offline) and, if needed, also a print@home ticket to print out. - Do I need the guest’s email address? Yes, in order to successfully send the Interlaken Pass by e-mail, you must enter an e-mail address. For a guest with accompanying guests, only the email address of the main registered guest can be entered. The main guest will then receive their personal guest card and the cards of all accompanying guests by e-mail and can forward them accordingly. This is only possible if you initiate the dispatch manually.
