======================================

Focus on natural and cultural experiences
-----------------------------------------

**Interlaken Tourism promotes qualitative and long-term development and actively supports the provision of culture-based and nature-related offers and services in the Holiday Region Interlaken. The focus is on attractive, nature- and culture-based experiences that contribute to regional value creation while considering the needs of both guests and local residents. Specific measures are presented below.**

The Holiday Region Interlaken’s wonderful natural and cultivated landscape is a unique asset worth preserving. Interlaken Tourism is committed to preserving the region’s natural and cultural heritage and traditions in the long term and to raising awareness among guests of the importance of treating them with respect.

*«Interlaken is an attractive year-round destination where guests travel responsibly, the local community benefits from tourism, and nature and resources are preserved for future generations.»*

Interlaken Tourism aims to further develop the destination in line with this vision. With the strategic approach «stay longer – experience more», Interlaken Tourism seeks to encourage guests to stay longer and inspire them to discover the diversity of the Holiday Region Interlaken.

Partnership with the UNESCO World Heritage Foundation site Swiss Alps Jungfrau-Aletsch

Since 2025, Interlaken Tourism has been working with the UNESCO World Heritage Foundation site Swiss Alps Jungfrau-Aletsch to promote the significance and unique character of the region in a sustainable manner. The UNESCO World Heritage site spans an impressive 824 km², encompassing almost the whole of the Bernese Alps in the cantons of Bern and Wallis. This extraordinary landscape is not only breathtakingly beautiful: it is also a historically significant source of information about climate change and the formation of mountains and glaciers. Interlaken is an ideal base for trips to the UNESCO World Heritage site and offers an incomparable view of the Jungfrau region. Notably, this impressive natural landscape is free to access. The Interlaken guest card also gives you free admission to the World Nature Forum (WNF), the World Heritage visitor centre in Naters. This partnership helps Interlaken Tourism to strengthen the link between tourism, knowledge sharing and the protection of unique natural treasures.

Mobility and resources

Through professional service, a friendly welcome and high quality, we aim to create unforgettable holiday experiences for our guests. For travel to and mobility within the Interlaken holiday region, Interlaken Tourism promotes the use of public transport. Within its own operations, Interlaken Tourism is committed to the responsible use of resources and energy and uses 100% green electricity. The municipality of Interlaken has also held the Energy City label since 2003.
