Author´s Tip / Recommendation of the author

If there is enough snow, a large part of the trail can be sledded. Without a sled, the hike takes about 3 1/2 hours (1 hour less with a sled). In total, it is about 1000 meters in altitude, of which 880 m is downhill.

Sled rental: As a **member of the Bernese Hiking Trails**, you benefit from our special offer of **freesled rental.**
Sleds can be rented at the Niederhorn mountain station and returned at the end of the trail at the Restaurant Regina in Beatenberg, Waldegg. Please note: sleds can only be rented when the sled rental is open. It may also happen that the lowest part of the winter hiking trail is snow-free, where the sled must be carried for a short distance.
